Will Tiger Woods and Lindsay Vonn play host and hostess this week in D.C.?

Washington is abuzz with the strong possibility that the sports world's latest power couple Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are headed to town. Wood’s  will be hosting the AT&T National at the Congressional Country Club in the posh D.C. suburb of Bethesda, Maryland.

As many know Wood’s has  a strained left elbow, the one that bothered him at last week’s U.S. Open. He announced that he will not play golf again until the British Open. So he will not be defending his 2012 AT&T National title.

That means Woods will have plenty of time on his hands and having Vonn around to help host the tournament  would make a great deal of sense. You would have the two of them working together with the Tiger Woods Foundation which supports the troops.

Woods, Vonn hosting the military and with all of Washington as a backdrop for plenty of photos. That is public relations person's dream and the best part of it all is they would have total control. They could call the shots and pick what places around Washington they plan to visit.

As someone who lives in Washington, I can tell you it is the perfect town for celebrities. It does not matter if you are a visiting head of State like British Prime Minister David Cameron or  Avatar director James Cameron, you can travel around Washington without anyone bothering you.

Having Woods and Vonn as the host and hostess of the AT&T National makes all the sense in the world and would be great for all involved.

There will be the Golf Channel and CBS with the coverage of the tournament. Locally CSN. Mid Atlantic have enjoyed a great relationship with Woods over the years. There  is do doubt the couple would be able to work with the networks to craft the right interviews.

Also don't forget there are nearly 125 international networks with offices in Washington ready to give the couple maximum coverage worldwide.

So Woods and Vonn could make a big splash while keeping control which is why it makes sense for the couple to be headed to Washington.
