July is the month when the sports world and most baseball
fans begin to really pay attention to Major League Baseball. The All Star Game
is on the 16th and this year it will be played at the Mets Citi Field in
New York City. The game will of course air on Fox as usual and the “Mid Summer
Classic,” should be very entertaining.
The MLB Network will be very busy during the month of July
with their Thursday Night Game of the week which will feature a number of teams
that we could see in the post season. They will also offer two tripleheader’s
in July.
The first will come on the 4th of July and it
will kick off very early. Here in Washington where I live we have a special
early game that begins at 11 a.m. The reason is because over a million people come
to the National Mall for the annual fireworks display. So the MLB Network will
air the Nationals hosting the Brewers at 11 a.m. ET as the day of baseball gets
off to an early start. At 2 p.m. ET the action moves to Chicago where the White
Sox will host the Orioles. Then the nightcap will be played in Arlington where
the Rangers will host the Mariner’s at 8 p.m. ET.
Tuesday, July 30. the first of the three games start at 4:00
p.m. ET the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the division foe Cardinals. After the
Cardinals and Pirates, the Mariners square off against the Red Sox in Boston at
7:00 p.m. ET. The tripleheader concludes with the Reds and the San Diego Padres
at 10:00 p.m. ET.
