Boston and Chicago
are providing some high drama on the ice and some great rating’s for NBC. Game
4 was a wild, high-scoring game that saw the Blackhawks defeated the Bruins,
6-5 in overtime, to even the Stanley Cup Final at two games each.
Well after seeing the two teams score a total of 12 goals
after three games of their best of seven series things got a little crazy last
night at T.D. Gardens. Game 4 saw both teams combine for 11 goals in one game.
Defenseman Brent
Seabrook's score at the 9:51 mark in overtime proved to be the difference. It was the third time in four games that the outcome was decided in overtime. Game 5 of the series will be played Saturday in Chicago and aired again on NBC.
The NHL Stanley Cup Finals game 4 provided NBC another win in the
overall ratings Wednesday night.Meanwhile, Fox's
"MasterChef" dipped from last week but still was able to muster up
the night's best numbers for an entertainment program, according to preliminary
numbers.
NBC's ratings for game
4 put the network, and the game, in first place with a 2.2 rating/7 share and
in total viewers with 6.2 million. The ratings represent a 175 percent increase from last year's Game 4, though that game aired on VS.which of course is now
known as the NBC Sports Network.
So far NBC has aired games 1 and 4 played between the Bruins
and the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals and both games have produced
ratings victories for the peacock. Games 2 and 3 were big ratings winners for
NBC Sports Network.
